An Ever-Growing Community

Nestled in the Fall Creek and Delaware townships of Hamilton County is the fast-growing suburb of Fishers, Indiana. In 2017, Money Magazine labeled this city the "Best Place to Live in America," and websites such as MSN.com and Forbes.com named it one of America's friendliest towns.

Fishers is found off I-69 on the northeast side of Indianapolis, and its population of around 91,000 citizens has received national accolades for entrepreneurship, livability, and safety. It is well-known for its clever and spirited people under their mayor, Scott Fadness, whose leadership focuses on neighborhood development, dedication to supporting high-growth companies, and innovative city processes.

Whether you're looking to experience some history and culture, try out new and interesting foods, a night out on the town, or even become a part of its neighborhood, Fishers has a place for everyone. The city boasts a strong economy anchored by a few big-name companies like ADT, Sallie Mae, Target, and Walmart.

Food and Drink

With eateries such as Samanos Taqueria, Wolfies Grill, Geist Coffee Co., and MashCraft Brewing, Fishers is home to a bevy of dining option from local restaurants to farmers markets. Fishers District is located just east of 116th Street and I-69, with more than 15 places to eat. You can find restaurants and various food articles with recommendations on the official city website.

Many of the area's most popular attractions and eateries are located in the Nickel Plate District; a designated statewide culture district considered the city's cultural heart. This is where you can find the farmer's market and various locations for local brews and pub food.

Art and Culture

Home to many talented artists such as Craig Ogden and Marianne Glick, Fishers is proud to cultivate its local arts. There are frequent public art exhibits, displayed colorful murals and art pieces, and various town musical performances to demonstrate its dedication to the arts. The city maintains a rich cultural calendar providing many recreational activities to residents and visitors alike.

One popular exhibit is their Symphony on the Prairie concert series, where the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performs renditions of your favorite songs. On the first Saturday of June, the city celebrates the Fishers Strawberry Festival dedicated to the in-season berry with offerings of shortcake, chilled strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream galore.

There are over a dozen parks and nature preserves as well as Geist Reservoir. This reservoir, located 5 miles south of the Hamilton Town Center, offers fishing and waterskiing activities. For golfers, there are many courses in the surrounding area, with Fishers named the second best-underrated golf community by Livability in 2010.

A trip here isn't complete without visiting its local outdoor museum Conner Prairie. This museum tells the history of Indiana through personal exploration. You can ride the 1859 Balloon Voyage for a sky-high view of Fishers.
