The #1 outdoor activity in Daleville is canoeing, kayaking, and tubing on the White River. Canoe Country offers 2-hour, 3-hour, 4-hour, and all-day rentals. They are open on the weekend, holidays, and weekdays by appointment in April and May. In summer, they are open seven days a week. This is a family-friendly adventure, and no alcohol is allowed on the river. Be sure to book a reservation in advance, as spots fill up quickly!


In the summer months, on Friday evenings between 5-7 pm, the Farmers Market is the place to meet friendly people and visit vendors from the area showcasing unique gifts and locally sourced fruit and vegetables. There is also live entertainment.


Nearby Mounds State Park highlights ten unique earthworks constructed by prehistoric Native Americans known to be the Adena-Hopewell. The Great Mound, believed to be the largest earthwork in existence, was built approximately 160 B.C. Archaeological evidence suggests that the mounds served as gathering spots for religious ceremonies to view astronomical alignments. Make sure you visit their Nature Center. This center features interactive games and displays of animals and a wildlife viewing section. Hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. You can find interpretive programs or naturalist-led hikes on the weekends throughout the year.

 

Nearby Rangeland Nature Preserve features a 180-acre nature reserve that includes mountain biking trails for advanced, intermediate and beginner levels. From the trails you can enjoy the preserve's diverse vegetation and topography. Nature enthusiasts, fishermen, and hikers also love the preserve.

 

After spending a day enjoying the outdoors, you’ll probably be hungry. Bird's Smokehouse BBQ specializes in hickory-smoked meats that are cooked slowly. They use only real hickory wood smoke to prepare their meats. Their famous pulled pork and chicken sandwiches and mouth-watering baby back ribs can take care your hunger. Their reasonable prices and friendly staff are a bonus.


The Daleville Dunn Right Sandwich and Ice Cream Shop is the perfect spot for a quick bite to eat or satisfy your sweet tooth. They are famous for their loose meat sandwiches and ice cream. Don’t be shy and ask for a sample.


For those who enjoy an evening walk, stay away from the Daleville Cemetery. It is said to be home of the Witch’s Circle. There have been reports of a floating figure of a white woman and a disappearing headstone.
